My Brave Little Boy

I had been dreading yesterday for a month. Maxwell needed four shots for his kindergarten registration. I decided not to tell him ahead of time b/c I was afraid he would just worry about it and get upset. After his hearing and vision screening we went into the nurse's office for the dreaded shots. I explained to him that he had to get these done to go to school in the fall and they would help him from getting sick too. The nurse was so sweet about it, she kept the shots covered up as long as possible (to hide the long needles!) and then brought them out. Maxwell was amazing about it, he watched her stick him twice in the right arm and he didn't say a word! I turned him around on my lap so she could do the other two shots in his left arm. Again, he just watched her stick him and then on the last one said, "that one kinda hurt." The nurse told us that the last one kinda burns, that's why she saved it for last. We were so surprised that he did so well, I was so relieved!! The nurse loaded him up with pencils and a ton of stickers for doing so well. I hope his baby sister does as well with her shots!
