The Story of Todd and Angie Smith

Todd and Angie lost their precious Audrey Caroline only 3 short weeks ago. This video shares their story as they struggle to deal with the reality of losing a child, while trusting that God has a divine plan for their family.

The Weekend

We had a busy weekend. First off was the Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood concert. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Keith Urban is so talented and seems to genuinely love what he does. He actually came into the crowd and gave away one of his guitars...to a guy TWO ROWS BEHIND US!!!! You can see in the picture just how close he was to us!! There were extra cameras at the concert b/c they were filming his concert DVD, which will be released in November, can't wait to buy that. If you have a chance to catch this concert, do it! It is sooo worth it!

Carrie Underwood was really great as well, she has an amazing voice and is a great entertainer. I'll blame it on pregnancy hormones, but when she sang "Don't Forget to Remember Me"...I got very teary-eyed thinking of Olivia leaving the nest one day. I know it will be here before we know it! She's already 8!

Here's a clip of Carrie performing the song on American Idol.

The kids had soccer games Saturday, unfortunately, Olivia's got rained out. Maxwell's game went well though, his team played hard despite being outsized. The other team looked like a pack of 1st graders! Maxwell scored a goal and was very proud of himself. Here's a picture of the moment right afterwards, he gives us the thumbs up when he does something good!

Big Momma

Seems as though I'm measuring two weeks ahead, my doctor thinks either the baby is big or I just have extra fluid. I'm thinking it's the later given that Olivia and Maxwell were both only 6lbs. My weight gain is right on track with my other pregnancies so I don't know that there's much I can do about it. The fact that this is my fourth pregnancy may have something to do with it, maybe I'm just getting bigger faster but won't grow much at the end (wishful thinking??). I have an appt. on May 1st and then will start to see the doctor every 2 weeks. If I measure ahead at my next appt., I'll probably have an ultrasound done. Maybe the baby had a growth spurt before my last appt.

The weather this weekend was beautiful, the kids had soccer on Saturday. They both LOVE soccer so much, it's so fun to see them enjoying it and learning about the sport. Saturday evening Hudson took the kids to a small lake near our house, Olivia caught a big bass and was very excited about that. They didn't get home until 8p but had a great time (mommy stayed home b/c there's no potty on the boat!). I hope everyone has a great week!

Date Night!

Hudson and I decided to splurge and picked up some wonderful tickets to see Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood on the 25th in Atlanta. I cannot wait!!!! Neither of us listen to country music much anymore, but Keith Urban is one of my favorites. He's an amazing writer and can play the heck out of a guitar!!

He tears up the guitar towards the end of this video.

An Amazing Testimony

This is the story of a family who lost their sweet baby girl hours after she was born, it is an amazing testimony to God's faithfulness and love.

Nursery

The nursery is really coming together since Nana arrived last night!!! We (I was mostly the assistant) made the cornice today for the nursery's window, it looks great, it's exactly how I envisioned it! Now we just need the bedding and armoire and some finishing touches on the wall!

Click on the pictures to make them bigger!

The Church of Oprah

A friend of mine emailed me a Youtube clip that is very disturbing to me as a born-again Christian. As we just celebrated the life, crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior there is a very outspoken and popular talk show host spreading her own beliefs and her own definitions of God. I think most people view Oprah as a Christian and view her beliefs as Christian-based, which makes her recent endorsement of Eckhart Tolle's new book A New Earth- Awakening to Your Life's Purposes all the more scary and sad.

It hurts my heart to see that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross is getting pushed aside for this new New Age movement simply because some in society do not want to believe Jesus is the one and only way to our Father. Instead they spread their message that there are many ways to God - Christianity being only one of them. Oprah preaches that Jesus simply came to earth to show us how to live, PERIOD. Not to start Christianity, He was simply a wise teacher, not a Savior. I agree with the statement at the end of the clip, it's time for Christians to turn off the TV and start to pray.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

I looooove Spring Break!

I slept in until 8am this morning, my sweet children woke up around 6:30 and made their own breakfast (apple juice and pop tarts) without waking mommy.....at least the apple juice was nutritious! I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing week and no after school activities, woohoo! Our fishfry was a success last night, despite the fact that none of our guests had eaten fried Crappie before!! I guess that's what you get when your neighbors are all yankees :) We had some leftover and they disappeared with our friends at the end of the night, I have a feeling several will be enjoying some for lunch today! I also made Meredith's Chocolate Velvet Pound Cake for dessert, it was a huge hit and also went home in some doggy bags last night...thankfully there's a nice size piece left for me!

Earlier yesterday we went to Maxwell's friend Eliah's 5th birthday party. The kids had so much fun and the party was a ball. It was a dinosaur theme and the kids did sandart and also did a dinosaur dig. Fun stuff!

It's been raining here today. Of course Atlanta needs the rain, I just wish it would rain at night so that it wouldn't disrupt our daily activities :) Soo since it's raining, Hudson got the crib put up and also put together the upholstered rocker and ottoman we bought for the nursery. It's even cuter than I expected. We'll do the window treatments next weekend while Margaret is in town; I'm looking forward to that b/c it'll warm the room up some. I'm still searching for some type of rug for the nursery. I think the baby is already set for clothes for the first 6 months, I've been buying some things and just went through a tote of clothes that Meredith gave me. One of my friends has offered her daughter's bathtub, swing and jumper; I don't think we'll be buying a whole lot.

I'm getting ready to head to Target and Publix to do some shopping for tomorrow night, we are having four other families over for a fishfry. The weather should be beautiful! Have a great Saturday! :)

Olivia's new bike

Olivia was surprised with a new bike for her birthday. She was in need of a larger one, we can't believe how big she is, our baby girl is 8 yrs old!

Such a good cat.

Thankfully for Maxwell, we have the world's most tolerant cat. He calls him his "walking backpack". Yesterday, Maxwell enjoyed running around the house like this!
